The Worlds Most Exclusive and Expensive Music Festival Experiences.

Andy Robertson

As the majority of people are battling with economic woes and ever decreasing disposable income there are still sufficient numbers of wealthy people willing to pay whatever it takes to experience the most exclusive music festivals. Where are the super-rich heading for to get their exclusive music festival VIP experiences.

When money is no barrier it’s common to seek out the most excessive luxury events to attend. However, sometimes exclusivity can be purchased for modest sums and the most expensive experiences can turn out to be terrible (Fyre Festival). Every music festival offers a VIP package which usually includes semi-luxury accommodation, private bathroom facilities, preferential stage viewing and back stage access. The majority of these probably fall under $3,000 for a long weekend (for 2 to 4 people), where general admissions prices may range from $200 to $500 for a weekend pass. What’s the pick of the best and most exclusive music festivals available?

Europe.
Probably one of the most exclusive music festivals in the UK is the Henley Festival (6th - 10th July) mainly because of its strict dress code and being touted as one of the most exclusive and unique party experiences in the world. Although a sit-down silver service dinner will cost about $500 it's not that expensive but ticket availability is. Expect Moet Champagne lawns, floating stages and bespoke concierge services. Other VIP experiences of note in Europe are Glastonbury and Tomorrowland, only because these festivals are almost always sold out and obtaining a VIP package can be challenging.

United States.
Coachella (April every year) always pitched itself as the ultimate luxury festival and has already taken place this year but with GA tickets at $550 the standard prices are expensive to start with. Coachella offer a range of VIP packages starting at $1,120 and go up to $5,366 for an air-conditioned lodge for 4. Expenditure can exceed this once festival-goers start adding on all the extras usually required.

Other Destinations.
Iceland is not an obvious choice of destination but the Secret Solstice Festival held in Reykjavik launched the most outrageous VIP package back in 2016. At $1m their package includes a private jet from anywhere in the world for 6 people plus luxury accommodation, dedicated catering and security staff for the duration of the festival. The event was cancelled for 2022 and there are currently no updates from the organisers about next year and whether this VIP package will still be offered. Going further afield there is the It’s The Ship festival onboard a luxury cruise ship in Asia taking place in November each year. The 4-day cruise from Singapore to Langkawi costs $600 for a shared cabin but VIP suites stars at $5,000 each, they used to offer an ultimate party package for a little under $700k. There are no details about future events but expect a return in 2023.

In times when such excesses are frowned upon there always seem to be a group of wealthy people intent on carrying on with the party. Whatever the political correctness or otherwise of this group of super spenders' festival organisers can get a slice of the action by investing in creating an exclusive experience for these wealthy festival-goers.

For festival organisers planning their events using a software management platform like Festival Pro gives them all the functionality they need manage every aspect of their event logistics. The guys who are responsible for this software have been in the front line of event management for many years and the features are built from that experience and are performance artists themselves. The Festival Pro platform is easy to use and has comprehensive features with specific modules for managing artists, contractors, venues/stages, vendors, volunteers, sponsors, guestlists, ticketing, cashless payments and contactless ordering.
